Thetis ECO Share Shop Introduction
Saturday, December 27, 2025 at 8:23AM Opening Saturday Dec 27 at Telegraph Harbor Marina at about NOON
Welcome to the Thetis Eco Share Shop where we can share good usable household and garden items with our neighbours:
Things to know about the Thetis Eco Share Shop:
The Share Shop rear has a walk-on platform to put larger or taller outside items, the Share Shop front has a platform for smaller outside items, the inside is for indoor items, lots of shelving and floor room for stuff. Under no circumstances are donated items to be in any other than these 3 places. As a conscientious user of this marina owned space we should be extra vigilant in respecting their property.
Items not to be put in Share Shop:
No Clothing or Fabric.
No Items that are not working or broken*.
No books or magazines except for Operation/Maintenance or fix-it manuals/books.
No seasonal items until the items season is close.
No things that are beyond their expiry date, eg: helmets and baby equipment which is regulated.
*We have a large Bulletin Board inside the shop that you can place ads for free items that are too large to fit in the Share Shop or for items that are broken and may just need a quick repair that a local handy person can fix.
The Share Shop will hold items up to the size of a lawn mower for outside items and slightly less for inside items. Though larger items cannot be placed at the Share Shop they can be posted on the Bulletin Board
There is solar lighting on a motion sensor inside the shop during our short daylight days.
There is a ramp with a railing for access to the inside of the Shop for those of us with stair challenges.
There is a wall mounted folding table to place boxes on when donating or picking up multiple items.
The Security cameras at Telegraph Harbour Marina will keep an eye on the shop after hours.
There is a secure donation box in the shop, if anyone chooses to help defray the cost of purchased materials. All labour to build and put this together has been donated. The trailer, metal roof, shelving and porch wood, door and windows have all been donated from Thetis residents. We are trying to recover the cost of the materials which we had to purchase to do the build. Details are above the Share Shop donation box.
Generally the shop will be open 24hrs, but it would be preferred that we would keep to the daytime hours of the Marina.
Please remove any garbage or boxes you bring in as we do not have a janitor service. There is a broom attached to the wall if anyone feels inclined to sweep.
If you see the item you have donated has not left after one month it would be best for you to take it back and donate it elsewhere (or take it to the dump).
We will be checking on the Shop every few days but if you see something awry please call or text us at 250-246-0566 to let us know.
Richard and Tess Demarco
Telegraph Harbour hours on Sat Dec 27 - 10:00-3:00pm
