More info on COVID Vaccine Clinic

Island Health will be returning to Thetis Island May 27 for a COVID-19 booster clinic.
This vaccine is the same COVID-19 vaccine in place during the latest respiratory illness season, which is the mRNA vaccine targeting the KP.2 COVID-19 subvariant.
Once the following groups, those most at risk of severe COVID-19 illness or complications, receive an invitation to book an appointment, they can book for May 27.
- Adults 65 years and older
- Indigenous adults 55 years and older
- Individuals 6 months and older and who have been diagnosed as clinically extremely vulnerable (CEV 1 or CEV 2 condition)
- Residents of long-term care homes and assisted living facilities, including alternate level of care patients awaiting placement in long-term care
Please note that:
Limited additional COVID vaccines will be available for walk-ins.
As well, a limited amount of Measles vaccines will be available to those who are eligible:
- Those born before 1970 and those born after 1970 who have received two doses of the measles vaccine or who have laboratory evidence of immunity are considered immune. If you never had the measles vaccine or measles you may be considered susceptible and are eligible for the vaccine.
