"Fire Smart" Home Assessments & Rebates

The FireSmart Team is planning to visit Thetis Island on Tuesday, February 24th.

This is your opportunity to get a comprehensive assessment of your home's wildfire risks and solutions to make your property more resilient to this growing threat.

Home assessments are free, confidential, and there is no obligation to pursue the recommendations we make for your home. We assess only the exterior of your home and property within 30 metres. You will receive a detailed report by email following our 20 to 40 minute consultation. More information is available on our website:

https://emcowichan.ca/programs-resources/fire-smart/home-owner/

$4000 REBATE
Primary homeowners who have not received a prior rebate may be eligible for up to $4000 for pursuing recommendations in our report. Please read all of the terms and conditions to ensure that you are eligible. If you have any questions about the assessment or the rebate, please send me an email.

On the "VISIT DAY" (February 24th):

Please ensure that you (or your agent) will be home when we arrive, and that pets are secured. You are welcome to join us on the property visit although it is not necessary. If neighbours are interested in learning from your assessment, they are also welcome to join us. If you are unavailable to attend on February 24th, please indicate in your reply that you are granting access to Firesmart on February 24th in your absence. Please also let us know if there are other occupants on the land, or any special instructions for gates, etc.

Prior to our visit you can learn about FireSmart maintenance, landscaping and home construction at theFireSmart BC website.
