Thank You & Community Chipping Reminder!

A huge thank you to everyone who came out over this past weekend to pull and clip invasive plants at Fairyslipper Forest!

With 15 amazing volunteers, we cleared approximately 35 m² of Scotch broom (roughly the size of a large living room piled chest-high) along North Cove Road and tackled a few gnarly holly trees in the interior. If you drive by, you might spot the impressive “mountain” in the parking area.

Community Chipping Day - Saturday, March 28

Drop-off: 9:00–11:00 AM
Fairyslipper Forest parking lot

Community members are welcome to bring invasive plants. Chipping is the safest and most effective way to manage invasives - please don’t burn or leave plants on-site, as many can resprout.

No materials with seeds or berries
Suggested donation: $80 per long-box pickup truck load

To help us estimate quantities, please email info@thetisislandnatureconservancy.org if you plan to participate.
Need pickup? Contact David Reay at davidreay@telus.net

Thank you for helping protect our local habitats!
