Tuesday = HIGH Hazard Restrictions

The fire hazard moved up to HIGH according to the four closest fire weather stations around us. As of Tuesday, May 5th, High Hazard Activities will be restricted to the morning hours and must cease before 1 pm. A two-hour fire watch must be posted following the work stoppage.

Although there is a lot of “green” around, the winds are drying us out significantly and the humidity is low during the day. The fine fuel on the forest floor has dried out.

Evening campfires with a permit are not affected, but please be aware that sparks, embers and wind are a dangerous mix and make sure you have water, tools and a responsible person to extinguish your campfire thoroughly.
