New Fire Truck Arriving Tuesday
Monday, June 8, 2026 at 8:03AM The Thetis Island Fire Fighters and Improvement District Trustees are excited to receive our new Engine 1 this Tuesday. The brand-new truck will drive off the ferry that docks at 2:45. The TIVFD and ID members will be out on the road as greeters, and we invite the community to join us as we get a first look at our bright red frontline pumper that will serve our community for the next twenty years or more.
Manufactured in Winnipeg, Manitoba by Fort Garry Fire Trucks, it was driven from Winnipeg to Thetis by retired rural Manitoba Fire Chief Barry Carpenter, who will provide an orientation to our local firefighters at the Tuesday evening training drill.
