How to safeguard your home and property from wildfire without harming nature. Saturday July 18, 9:30 - 11:30 with Mitchell Sherrin at 364 Mill Rd (parking limited, carpooling recommended)

Why fungi are so important to Thetis Island forests and how to keep them living. Saturday July 18, 1:30 with Dr. Andy MacKinnon at Forbes Hall. Note: the walk following the talk is fully reserved.

Learn how Quw'utsun (Cowichan) First Nations and their partners are working to keep Western redcedar from disappearing from Vancouver Island and Gulf Islands forests. Sunday, 9:30 -11:30 with Cheyene Williams and Sarah Jackman of the Qum'utsun Cultural Connections Society.

How Thetis Island forests have changed since the last ice age, how they are changing now and are projected to change in the future, and how we can adapt to these changes to create community resilience. Sunday July 19, 1:30 with Dr. Richard Hebda at Forbes Hall.

A chance to ask the guest speakers your own questions about Thetis Island trees and forests at a panel moderated by Dr. Mary Des Chene. 3 pm at Forbes Hall following Dr. Hebda's talk.

We hope to see you there!
