Nature of Forests Weekend Follow-up
Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at 7:09AM Thank you to everyone who came out to the Nature of Forests weekend. The four excellent presentations were well attended and well received with many questions. We are left with food for community thought, discussion, and action to increase our resilience for the coming years and decades. .
We'll be pulling together a set of Key Takeaways from each session to send out to the community. We invite anyone who took notes to share them with us at ccr@thetisisland.net.
In the meantime, Dr. Richard Hebda who spoke about the Past, Present, and Future Forests and Climate of the Gulf Islands, encourages all residents to read Chapter 2 (Weather and Climate) and the Epilogue (summary of his talk) from the book Salish Archipelago, both of which are available free at the links below.
