Jollity Farm Shop: Chapter 3, Hot off the Presses

As promised, Chapter 3, hot off the press!

Some of you might remember the very first offering from our farm. We started a CSA program to create security for our first real farming season and to grow a customer base. Most of you didn’t know us well, but you believed in us and agreed to share our dream of growing fresh local produce on Thetis.

In those first few weeks of CSA we had to scramble to fill those boxes with enough produce. Oh, the tragedy of a bed full of hole-ridden turnips or herbs that bolted! It was a rough start, but we kept going. Jump to today, where we rely on the Chemainus shop to sell all the veggies the farm grows! Creating a menu that uses up all the extras has been such a bonus and has given us more ways to share all the beautiful products that we and other local farmers produce!

Bill Sharp was one of the customers who took a chance on that first CSA program and said, "Yes, I'll exchange some money in return for a season of veggies". Well, guess what? Bill has said "YES" again! This time, Bill said, "Yes, I'll lend you the money to secure your business, so you can keep growing more veggies!" Wow!
