Illegal Campfire on Burchell Hill

The TIVFD has received a report that there has been a very recent campfire on Burchell Hill peak.

The province has shut down all outdoor fires in the Coastal Fire Centre region, and the entire Province is under a declared State of Emergency due to conditions and wildfires. 

Under NO circumstances are campfires allowed at this time on Thetis’s Island!

Thetis Island is still in HIGH Fire Danger rating despite that storm cell that passed over us this morning. No fires and end High Hazard Activities by 1 pm and post a 2-hour fire watch.

Call 911 if you spot any smoke columns, especially in the next few days after that lightning storm.
