Ten More Sleeps to the Community Parade!
Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at 11:06AM Those entering a "float" or equivalent should muster at the fire hall on Mission Road by 10:30 am on Saturday August 29th. The parade kicks off at 11 am sharp. The parade route is the usual one: Mission Road to North Cove Road travelling south, then down the big hill at the start of Pilkey Point Road, then around Marina Drive (which way depends upon the piper choosing the first right turn or the second), and then back up the hill and back to the firehall.
Children 4-12 yrs old wishing to enter the Chief For A Day contest should have their artwork with their name and age and a parent's contact information on the back, in the box at the firehall front door by 6 pm August 25th. A name will be drawn from all the entries for a child (and parent) to ride in the new fire truck at the front of the parade. Artwork should be about firefighters or fire trucks or fire safety and will be displayed at the firehall during Fire Prevention Week.
Sparky will be making an appearance (with goodies) so dust off your deck chairs and be prepared to shake their hand. This will be a fun event for everyone!
