Thetis Island Residents and Ratepayers Association (TIRRA) - Supports Motion M-35 – Federal Operational Support for BC Ferries

TIRRA has written to the federal government in support of Motion M-35, which calls for fair, stable and long-term federal support for BC Ferries.

For island communities such as Thetis Island, reliable and affordable ferry service is essential transportation. TIRRA's letter encourages the federal government to work with the Province of British Columbia to modernize the current funding arrangement for BC Ferries and recognize the important role ferry service plays in connecting coastal and island communities.

The letter is available at: https://www.thetisisland.net/tirra/communications/20260816_Thetis_Island_Residents_and_Ratepayers_Association_Letter_in_Support_of_Motion_M-35_and_background_information.pdf

Islanders and ferry users who would also like to show their support are encouraged to sign House of Commons Petition e-7474, before September 29, which calls on the federal government to modernize ferry funding and provide fair federal support for BC Ferries.

Sign the petition at:  https://www.ourcommons.ca/petitions/en/Petition/Details?Petition=e-7474

The more residents who add their names, the stronger the message that reliable and affordable ferry transportation is important to coastal and island communities throughout British Columbia.
