Following the Quarterly…

The Thetis Island Quarterly has been continuously published for 36 years. It has evolved from a single-page newsletter to a 28-page magazine, capturing our island’s moments of history, stories of our islanders, notes on our different associations and organizations, as well as many other interesting and fun articles and submissions.

This year, our current editor, Carol Sowerby is retiring. She’ll see the December 2026 issue through its publication and then will set aside her blue-pencil after over 20 years of involvement with the Quarterly.

The Quarterly is published by the Thetis Island Community Association and is an important island connection.

Can you help?

We are seeking a volunteer(s) with a background, or keen working interest, in graphic design and editing to lead a committee of volunteers in the production of an island publication to follow in the footsteps of the Quarterly. This person will research and recommend an editing program to TICA's Board of directors and will work with a team to continue this rewarding and valued community initiative.

A meeting is set for November 2nd to continue the discussion of the content and format of the publication, and it would be beneficial to have those interested in this lead position attend the meeting.
