TIVFD ~ Driveway Clearance

The TIVFD reminds you that all driveways must be cleared to a regulation MINIMUM hard roadbed of 12 feet wide and a MINIMUM of 15 feet vertical clearance from all obstacles.

Since this is the season for clearing up your winter storm damage of branches and limbs, now is a great time to make sure your driveway meets the regulation for emergency vehicle access.

You will be surprised at how much new growth has  occurred since the last time you clipped and cleared your road.

Our emergency vehicles are wide and tall, with big side mirrors and antennae, and although you might not notice the overgrowth when driving your own vehicle home, we can’t access your place without the proper roadway clearance.

BUSY FERRY ~ THURSDAYS 8AM

As we who catch the 8:00 ferry know you have to be here earlier and earlier. However, I learned today that the 8 ferry will be full from Penelakut for swimming lessons until mid-May. Just passing on this, so if you need to be somewhere the 6:15 ferry is going to be your best choice if you have to be somewhere in the early morning hours. Summer is coming...
