An Owl Afternoon ~ Feb 11th

Dear Islanders and Beyond,

I would like to invite you for an afternoon about Owls at the community hall on Saturday Feb 11th 2-4pm.

I will talk you through some amazing owl anecdotes, you will learn and laugh with me during this time hopefully!

If you have any owl related things in your house you're welcome to bring this along.

Please make my afternoon a good one and come along for a couple of hours. You will not be disappointed, I will guarantee that!

Thank You ~

I am so appreciative of all the help and donations of food last Saturday for the celebration of life gathering to honour my recently departed husband John Stadt.  I was overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness of Thetis Islanders, many of whom spent many hours setting up the hall, organizing food, and cleaning up afterwards.  My apologies that so many of you who attended were forced to stand due to a lack of sufficient chairs!  Your hugs and warm sentiments expressed to me meant more than I can express in words.

A million thanks to you all!

Looking for a Ride to Departure Bay ~ Thurs. Jan 19th

Dylan Perdue has been helping Ernie Hunter at our Cabin, and will be be needing a lift to Nanaimo to catch the ferry back to Vancouver (Thursday January 19) .... if anyone can help him I would be appreciative -

Dylan is a recent graduate of UBC's Integrated Engineering Program where his Team's capstone project was to design and make a grey water recycling system that can be used at the household level.  I had the pleasure of being his instructor for the Engineering Ethic and Professional Practice course in his graduating year.  He would like to catch the 2:30 Ferry back to Vancouver, so I would anticipate that he needs to catch the 11 Ferry

Dylan's phone number is 604 366 8222, or drop by at 277 North Cove Road... thanks..

Lawrence Nature Path ~ Volunteers Wanted!

Over the past couple of months, a team of Capernwray volunteers has been working on creating the trail on Lawrence Spring Farm.

We are now inviting any islanders that would like to help out with this work, to come and volunteer on the next two Wednesdays, Jan 18 & Jan 25.

Please meet at the trailhead just past the fire hall on Mission Road, anytime between 9:30 and 11:00AM.  An hour or two of your time will contribute hugely to this project!

Remember to wear appropriate clothing for the weather, work gloves, and waterproof footwear.

Looking forward to seeing you on Wednesday.
