Lawrence Spring Farm ~ Beef Orders

Island bred, born & raised beef ~ natural browse & grazing year round, supported with local hay in the winter months.   These beef cattle are raised on the land, only coming in for individual care, and calving.   Lawrence Spring Farm has been producing Thetis Island Beef for 35 years.

Beef will be available in November 2016.  

Taking orders now for full sides & shared sides only (we'll match you up with another customer).  Shared sides have all the same types of cuts as full sides.  Sides usually weigh approximately 225#(hanging wieght)

$4.85 per pound (hanging weight).  Includes all processing charges except for sausage making if requested.

TIVFD ~ First Responders/Fire Drill

Your fire fighters will be operating at the end of North Cove Road Saturday Aug. 27th, morning and early afternoon, with a motor vehicle crash mockup. The wrecks will be towed off-island fooling the drill.

Garlic ~ Galiano's Cable Bay Farm ~ taking orders

Back by popular demand! Certified organic Galiano Island Cable Bay Farm garlic now available for order. This year, my son Noah Eriksson is offering 6 varieties. All are $12/lb or $10/lb for 5 lbs or over. A pound, depending on the variety, usually has about 10-12 heads. Delivery to me on Thetis will be in early September. Stored in a cool, dark dry place it will last until spring.

The varieties, all hard-necked, are:

Georgian Crystal - mild porcelain type, known for its good storage.

Georgian Fire - spicy porcelain type

Korean Purple - Medium spicy rocambole type. Good roaster

Baba Franko - Spicy rocambole type. Dark purple cloves.

Duende - Medium spicy porcelain type. White cloves. Very large heads.

BC Liberal Party ~ Farm Basket Fundraiser

Alana DeLong and the rest of the board of the BC Liberal riding association of your riding are pleased to invite all to a fundraiser this Friday, August 26th at the Mount Brenton Golf Course. There is a sit down dinner and a cash bar. Minister of Agriculture Norm Letnick is attending and there is a live auction of baskets of produce from local farms including our own Jollity Farm.
