Summer Reminder ~ Noise Carries

Summer’s the time for enjoying outside with windows and doors open to bring in the fresh air. Lazy evenings spent on the deck taking in the views, having a meal or just kicking back and resting quietly.

It’s also a time to make sure that your enjoyment of summer evenings doesn’t impact negatively on someone else’s. Remember that noise carries and can be amplified by natural features and across water. Please keep your volume down at all times and show consideration for others while you’re enjoying your summer evenings.

New TIVFD Water Tank at Pilkey Point

Alex and Pauline have generously allowed the TIVFD to place a 5,600 imperial gallon water storage tank on their property next to the road at Pilkey Point.  The transport of the tank took 18 hours and the time and costs were also generously donated by an anonymous islander with a borrowed trailer from another anonymous resident.  The fittings for the tank should be installed by next weekend and the tank filled and ready for emergency fire water supplies.  The water will be NON POTABLE.  This is a valuable addition to the TIVFD water supply project, and many volunteers worked to make this happen.  We would be pleased to talk with you about this ongoing project if you have questions.

If you are in a location/neighbourhood that you think would benefit from an additional emergency water tank placement, and are willing to have it installed on an easily accessible area of your property, for the good of the community, please contact us.

Missing Licence Decal

The Insurance deal for 2017, has been scraped of our Blazer!

This could only have happened on Friday June 15, after leaving the vehicle parked at the side of the road at the Thetis Island Ferry!

Have filed a police incident, and a new one will cost $18! Great.
