Library News ~

Oh, oh, I forgot to thank Anaïs for the great poster for the book and bake sale this year.  I am pretty sure I did not acknowledge Carol Sowerby's  creative poster from last year.  Thanks to my creative friends.

New to the library:

The Eiger Sanction - Trevanian -  fiction - old but great

Inside the O'Briens - Lisa Genova - fiction

A God in Ruins - Kate Atkinson - fiction

The sound and the furry - Spencer Quinn - fiction

The Arrogant Autocrat - Mel Hurtig - 320

King of the Vagabonds - Neal Stephensen - fiction - The Baroque Cycle series

Like Water for Chocolate - DVD

Celine

Thank-you ~ Successful Book & Bake Sale

Thanks to the generosity of islanders and visitors, the library has had another successful book and bake sale with over $1200 being raised for library materials. It could not happen without volunteers.

I had a large dedicated group this year of helpers this year; Bing, Myla, Ken Redman, Vicky, Sage, Curt, Shirley Burr and friend, Jonathan and Virginia, Helen Bird, Bev Stuart, Ruth Goodbody, Veronica, Pauline, Isabel and Alison, Vicky and Ryan, and Peggy Thompson. I think we made a good team.

It also could not happen without the many donations of books and delicious baking and Nan's coffee. I really appreciate the support of my island community.

Your local librarian,

Celine
