A tail-less cat named Bobby (described as tortoiseshell-coloured but she looks like a little bobcat) went AWOL from the community dock two days ago.

Weather Alert for Eastern Vancouver Island

An arctic front will be approaching Monday evening and by Tuesday east Vancouver Island (and us) may be receiving sub freezing temperatures for a few days.  Residents with exposed plumbing might want to cover those pipes up before Monday night.
The fire dept. urges you to be fire safe during these cold snaps...check that your chimney flue is clear of creosote, don't have electric heaters overloading extension cords, and keep curtains, beds and furniture away from baseboard and portable heaters.

Found: Car Key on Pilkey Point Rd / Tire Inflated

I found a car key on Pilkey Point Road this afternoon (Fri Nov 20th), just north of the hairpin turn at the base of the north side of Moore Hill. The owner may be walking the road looking for it, so I put the key at the base of the "curves ahead" road sign that's on the west side of Pilkey Point Road between the driveway to lot 409 and the driveway to lots 178-181 (shown as lot 178 on the map in the Thetis Island Directory).

Also: Our tire is now re-inflated.  A big thank you to our many Thetis neighbours who contacted us!

Fall Clean Up Day at the Hall ~ Nov 21st

Save the Date. Lots of Volunteers needed.

If some of you could bring a ladder, cloths for cleaning, and/or a bucket that would be great.

Saturday Nov 21 from 9:30 - 2:00

Soup, Sandwich, Coffee and Tea will be provided at the lunch break.

Things to be done:

Outdoor Pavilion Roof to be taken off so that a metal roof can be put on. (Definitely need a few people to help do this)Some of you may want to take the shakes home for kindling or as fire starters.

Gutters cleaned

Windows cleaned

Backroom storage area cleaned and reorganized

Chair leg end replacement caps put on

Cleaning the slippery wood framing around the children's playground

Kitchen floor edging cleaned

Fridges washed

and ....
