TIVFD ~ Smoke Alarm Campaign Winners

Thanks all whom participated in the February TIVFD Smoke Alarm Campaign. 

If you were able to sound your smoke alarm when we telephoned, you were entered into a draw for one of three $50.00 grocery certificates for the 49th Parallel Grocery in Chemainus.  We wish to thank the 49th Parallel Grocery for helping out with the prizes. 

The three winners of the gift certificates are:  Bob Pickell, Francie Beltgens, and Don Sinclair. 

But everyone else who has a working smoke alarm is really a winner too!  And if you have a Thetis Island mail box and were entered into the draw, you will find a little something in your box from the TIVFD in the coming days, with our thanks for playing.

Overbury ~ Easter Egg Hunt & Looking for Wedding Guest Accommodations

ANNUAL OVERBURY EASTER EGG HUNT

Children bring your baskets or containers to Overbury Farm Resort on Sunday, March 31st.  Meet at the entrance to Overbury at 12:30 pm. and at the signal to start you can search the grounds for the eggs left by the Easter bunny. 
The Easter Egg hunt will be cancelled if there is heavy rain, and it will go ahead if there is a light drizzle.

ACCOMODATION FOR WEDDING GUESTS NEEDED

Additional accommodation is needed for 7 wedding guests on the weekend of Friday, July 12th and  Saturday, July 13th.

If you are willing to offer accommodation for any of the guests please contact Arlene Kasting at overbury@pacifccoast.net.

19th Annual Thetis Island Regatta ~ May 10th, 11th & 12th, 2013

Every year Thetis Island Marina & Pub and the Ladysmith Yacht Club host a regatta, which includes a race around both Thetis and Penelakut Islands. This regatta first ran 19 years ago, and each year proves to be one of the best social sailing meets anywhere. The regatta takes place on the second weekend of May each and every year, and includes registration on Friday, race on Saturday, followed by dinner and live music & dancing, and departure Sunday.

*NB. 60 boat max.  Pre-registration before April 25th Requested.*

Coastal Local Governments seek Provincial Ferry Vision, Fair Ferry Fares
