Hello everyone,

I need to cancel yoga next week, all classes, May 7, 8, 9, and 14 - I have to have a tooth pulled on Wednesday.  So all classes are cancelled until Wednesday, May 15, as there is voting in the hall on Tuesday the 14th.  See ya at the polls!

Take care and enjoy this amazing sunshine for the weekend!

Warmly,

Come and See the Learning Garden Slope Project

Come and check out the fantastic results of the slope stabilization workshop at the Learning Garden behind Forbes Hall. Over the past two weekends, participants have learned the basic techniques for stabilizing slopes with natural materials and have put this education into practice to stabilize and beautify the slope created by the installation of the garden water tank.

The process was inspiring to all who participated and the results are a wonderful addition to the garden. The next project is to create a screen and bench/planter area at the top of the slope to help make the Learning Garden an inviting space for everyone.

Thanks to Stephanie Cottell for facilitating the workshop!

PS As you walk around Forbes Hall, please be careful in and of the construction area.

Thank you! TICA

Changes at Forbes Hall ~

Accessibility improvements at the front of the Community Centre are being implemented over the next month. The first stage will be site preparation for an enlarged ramp and drop-off area  southeast of the building.

A gentle warning:  This ramp area will not be "user friendly" until the paving is completed in late May.

The project was described in the Winter issue of the Thetis Island Quarterly, click here to read report.

Thank you...

My sincerest thanks go to all the people who have helped and supported me over the last few months especially during the recent time of Phoebe's passing away.

I am particularly grateful to Patrick and Lucy Mooney who have helped so much to keep things going smoothly and been a wonderful support to me personally..

I would also like to thank Suzanne and Kevin for the cemetery arrangements, Simone--Sculptress and more, Chocolate Lilies, Don and Nettie, the ladies who helped convene and set up the tea, Lucy, Sue, Nan and Lynn, Dee who can find anything that is needed at a moments notice, all those who donated food and goodies, Pot of Gold for the coffee, and those who stayed to help with the clean up.

Many thanks go to the incredible number of people that have sent me cards of condolence, kind thoughts and words. I treasure them and you all.

Reflective Address Posts available at Fire Extinguisher Clinic

There is a Thetis Island Improvement District requirement to have your Lot Number posted and visible from both directions at the road end of your driveway so that emergency response vehicles can find you in darkness, poor weather, etc. without undue delay.
