Thank you to Thetis Island Community Fund Donors who have Generously Supported our Fall Campaign

We have been holding on to tax receipts due to the Canada Post strike. Thank you to the TI Marina Resort team! We will take advantage of "on-island" mail delivery this week. Those who have no local post office box #, we will hold receipts until the strike is over.

We truly appreciate your support: Islanders helping Islanders!

A Cup of Love

Can you spare a cup of love for a family in Cuba?

Their country is facing shortages of food, water and electricity. Economic collapse has resulted in prohibitive prices for what is available, and many, many families struggle to cope.

If you would like to "adopt" a family, we are setting up an exchange. You would place a grocery order online for your family, and it would be delivered to them. We will connect you with a family and help you set up an account. Quantity and frequency would be up to you.

Our connections are authentic, and the service is reliable. If you want to lend a hand, email us at: sunrisegrail@gmail.com

Thanks for caring,
Maureen and Wayne

Telegraph Harbour Meats - are you a liver lover?

We have a new round of meat in, this one is special for a few reasons:

1. Restock of grassfed Farmers Sausage (cooked & uncooked)
2. Heritage striploins back in stock
3. Veal Sweetbreads (the kids love these, we have a very small amount spare, but if you've never tried them!)
4. Grass-fed grass-finished beef *liver* - we got a good price on these - I've portioned this and frozen for easier slicing. I'll put some in the breaks to go fridge, but in general they will be in the back walk in.
5. Grass-fed grass-finished beef *heart* - cleaned and flat cut. The flavour and price are really good on these. I've left them fresh for a few days if you want to stew them or grind them, then I will freeze the remainder.

As last time: we have frozen chicken thighs, frozen ducks, ground turkey, ground venison, grass-fed ground beef, frozen eye of rounds for stewing or roasting, and good prices on the frozen strip loin, and frozen ribeye.

Thetis in the News

For anyone who missed it, CBC British Columbia had a nice story this weekend about how Thetis residents manage power outages.

The story includes photos and quotes from a number of Thetis people, and is still on the CBC website at:

Looking for a Washing Machine

Hoping someone on the island might have a high capacity washing machine for sale. Something that can handle a five-person household.

Unfortunately, ours just decided to quit so we need to find something soon if possible.

Kind regards,
