ThINC at the Christmas Market

Hello Thetis Islanders!

ThINC will have a table at the Christmas Market this Saturday, where we'll be selling our 'Hot off the Press' ThINC logo tshirts for kids and youth, and very cute onesies for infants, with a variety of sizes and colours in-stock! We'll also have among our offerings, beautiful nature-inspired cards by Marcie Welsh, fun magnets and buttons by Keya Welsh, our ever popular sea life coloring books, and ThINC adult tshirts (available to order),

Come by our table to renew or purchase an early-bird membership for the 2025 year. This year, we're simplifying the membership options and are offering only an annual membership: $25 per adult and $50 for a couple or family. Your membership supports our nature education, stewardship and community science programs and includes a subscription to our newsletter, The Ripple; voting privileges at our AGM; and a place on our email list for notices about upcoming events. We're already planning our 2025 summer Nature House program where everyone is welcome!

Thank you for your ongoing support. We look forward to seeing you at the market!

Thetis Elementary Fundraiser

Dear Thetis Island Humans,

Hi, it’s me, Athenia! I’m so excited about our school fundraiser at the Christmas Fair tomorrow. We’ve been working really hard, and we have so many fun things for you to see and buy!

Find Us First!

We asked for a table too late, so there wasn’t room inside—but that’s actually great because we’ll be outside the front doors on the right! Please visit us first before spending all your money inside:). When you buy from us, we offer free, earth-friendly gift wrapping and can hold your baked goods until you’re ready to leave. It’s our way of saying thank you!

Gift Basket Raffle

We’ve made a special gift basket with art cards, one of my felted pictures, and yummy baked goods. You can buy tickets for a chance to win, and we’ll let the winner know at the end of the day.

Art Cards

Each student made unique art cards, perfect for Christmas or sending a kind note. I also made needle-felted art pictures of forests, ponds and even sailboats for sailors (because I’m a sailor too!). Half of the money I earn will go to the fundraiser.

Baked Treats

We have lots of yummy treats, including:

Spice loaf cake, Lemon squares, Gluten-free black bean brownies (healthy and delicious!), Rice Krispie squares (please don’t buy all of them!)

Special traditional Czech baking my mom can tell you about.

Purdys Chocolates

You can still order Purdy’s chocolates—they’re perfect for gifts or just for yourself!

We’re trying to make everything earth-friendly, using natural and sustainable materials. This fundraiser is super important for our school, and we’d love your support.

Thank you and see you there!

Athenia and Sparkles ( because I do everything with my dog).

Telegraph Harbour Marina Event

We are excited to announce our next Telegraph Harbour Marina Event. The Children's Christmas Bazaar and Tea

Date and time to be announced, so stay tuned. Games and goodies are in the works.

For this event we are asking for community contributions to the “Bazaar”. Small, gently used items the children can select for their loved ones for less than a dollar or two. Proceeds to be donated to the Thetis Library and items not selected will be donated to the Chemainus Thrift Store.

We appreciate your thoughtfulness in choosing items you are willing to part with, that a child may experience joy and pride in the spirit of giving. Please drop off to the cafe during business hours.
