Found: Spare Tire

If you are missing your spare tire, I saw one in the ditch on Sunday, just past Lot 181 on North Cove Road. It is on the side of the nature parks & is somewhere between the two parks.

With the heat forecast, Forbes Hall will be open Monday (today) 9am to noon & 1pm to 5pm.
Feel free to drop by, enjoy the library and cool down.
Currently Tuesday is also forecast to be hot.
The Nurse Practitioner will be there so the hall will be open from 9 am until 3 pm. Depending on volunteer availability, we will try and keep it open longer.
Check e-spokes Tuesday morning for Tuesday’s hours.
We are always looking for people to volunteer for a few hours. Contact me if you are willing to help out (Acanthurus61@gmail.com). It’s a fairly easy job - enjoy the cool library and visit with those who drop in!
Stay cool and stay hydrated.

Thank you, Meadow Valley Strata, for once again allowing a safe passage detour through your private road when we had to shut down Pilkey Point Road at the Recycling Area due to the live wires down.
Thanks also to the e-Spokes team for getting out the emergency alert.
e-Spokes postings so that the community members with an internet connection could get info on the road closure.
And special thanks to our TIVFD members who responded to the event to divert traffic for five hours in the heat of the day. We all appreciate the support we get to do our job to help keep our island community safe.

Dear Friends,
It is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude for his life that we share that Charlie Fordham passed away on the afternoon of Friday, August 9, at Victoria General Hospital from a severe brain bleed that had occurred earlier in the week.
Charlie and Marlene (who passed away this Spring) were the founders of Capernwray Harbour Bible Centre and have lived on Thetis Island since 1979.
Thank you to the TIVFD for their speedy and professional response when 911 was called on Tuesday this week. The care and support we received was (as always) exceptional and we are profoundly grateful for each and every dedicated member of the TIVFD and for their tireless service.
A Celebration of Life will be held at New Life Church in Duncan on Saturday, August 30 at 11:00 am, which would have been Charlie and Marlene’s 56th wedding anniversary. For those unable to attend in person, a live stream will be available.
A private family interment will follow on August 31, where Charlie and Marlene’s ashes will be buried together in St. Margaret's Cemetery. As with Marlene, Charlie has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Capernwray Harbour Student Fund.
Thank you for your support for the Fordhams as they work through another very difficult time. We are so blessed to live in such a kind and caring community.
From the Capernwray Harbour staff family on behalf of Chris & Susy Fordham and their family
Tentatively expect return of power in about an hour or so.

Does anyone have an adapter cord that might fit an ACER laptop I could borrow for a couple of days?
Mine got left in Victoria.
