Rockin' the Cemetery

Thanks to Matthias  Zaplatel, Ken Redman and Gurk Sarioglu the cemetery has been rocked!  The job was made easier with the arrival of a small kubota loader which saved many hours of labour and stress on backs.

We will be seeing some path material arriving later this summer. Notice will be posted for help to rake the material and get our new path ready to go.

Grail Dancer Leaves Home

We felt both joy and sadness as Grail Dancer sailed from her home on Thetis, bound for Haines, Alaska with her new owner Ian Seward. Ian is a trained shipwright, Northern fisherman, sailor, wooden boat enthusiast, and adventurer. We are pleased that she is passing into capable hands.

We thank this community for its encouragement and assistance throughout the evolution of our dream : the construction, launch, maintenance, sailing and fundraising ventures.

Our sincere 'THANK YOU ' to everyone involved.

Lotul 602 Wood Stove: Free

Free to a good home.

In good condition.

The top baffle is corroded and the internal side plates need to be hammered back straight, but this is a great wood stove.

'Another Kind of Garden'

To all who take sustainable gardening/food and energy serious and do things - not the folks who only talk about it!

'Another Kind of Garden - The Methods of Jean Pain' - please see http://library.uniteddiversity.coop/Permaculture/Another_Kind_of_Garden-The_Methods_of_Jean_Pain.pdf

It's about local resources. No material or other stuff you have to haul to the island to get a garden and heating going. Jean Pain figured this out already in the 70's. So, nothing new, I've done it for years now and it works.

For the chipping part - I have finally my big chipper over - Vermeer BC1250 max 12" intake - and I can help with getting the chipping part done. But please be patience I am building our home too.

Well you just pay for the Diesel for the chipper and a box of organic vegetable or fruits per hour (I am not interested in money!!) and you get some chips to get started. I am interested in a change of mind - not running behind money!
