Fire Hazard Drops to High Risk

As of Sunday, the Fire Hazard Risk drops to HIGH Hazard. All High Hazard Activities (chain-sawing, mowing etc.) are once again allowed on “early shift”, meaning from dawn to 11:00 o’clock in the morning. You must post a two hour fire watch at your worksite after the High Risk Activity ceases.

There is another warming, drying trend forecast and we may soon be in EXTREME Hazard again, but at least there is a small window now to get done what you have been putting off.

Please have water and shovel on site when working. Call 911 early if you spark a fire. Thanks for your fire safety.

The campaign launch at Nature House on August 8 was attended by 30 people from Thetis and neighbouring islands.
