I have a friend bringing a car trailer over to the island and it will be going back empty. He has offered to remove a car for free and take it to the scrap yard in exchange for the scrap value. The car would need to have 4 inflated tires, and be at least able to be rolled.
Let me know ASAP, planning for Monday or Friday next week.
Call or text Peter 250-252-0758 and we can co-ordinate the removal.
Katia Bannister is hopeful for a ride to the track in Nanaimo this Saturday, off the 8:05 ferry.
Thanks if you can help! 250-246-9753
Thank you all for your patience waiting to be jabbed in the arm Wednesday at the TIVFD Annual Flu Shot Clinic.
The 11:10 ferry didn’t get in until after 11:50, thus creating a bit of havoc with the scheduling. We are very grateful the Bridge Club were willing to set up in the big room at 1 pm, and let the last of the over 80 people wanting a flu shot, get theirs. Thank you!
The two nurses, Joanne and Barb, said they love doing the clinic here, and Joanne is making sure we can do it again next year by making us “special”. This was her last year coming over…she retires in February.
Thanks also to the TICA Soup's On staff who worked through the chaos and even saved the last two bowls of soup for the nurses.

The community of Thetis Island received a tremendous gift this past weekend.
The participants of the Riparian Restoration workshop sponsored by Nikki Wright of Seachange Marine Conservation Society and under the guidance of Dave Polster constructed a live willow terrace on the collapsed bank at St. Margaret’s Cemetery.
This terrace of cuttings will sprout and grow into a wall of willows whose roots will strengthen the bank. It is a wonderful example of bioengineering and a lesson in how we can learn to repair damaged sites by looking to natural processes.
The participants also pitched in and helped plant ferns and Oregon grape in the new rain garden area at the cemetery. In order to understand the significance of this gift we encourage the community to drop down to the cemetery and have a look .
Thank you to those who organized the workshop especially Seachange, and all those who provided billets, food and music for a successful workshop weekend. It was a privilege to work with you all.

This year's Christmas concert will take place on Thursday evening, 13th December at the Thetis Island Community Centre.
I am still looking for people who would like to add their talent to this very popular event. Do you feel like performing musical number, a reading, a skit, a dance or something similarly entertaining, please contact me!

Our Annual Flu Shot Clinic is in the Library this year, Wednesday Oct. 31, from 11:15 (if the ferry is on time) until 1 pm. Wear something that easily gives the nurse access to your arm. Parents are encouraged to bring their children for a “flu-mist” (no needle) vaccination.
