Thanks ~ Nanaimo Track & Field Club Supporters

Huge thanks to those that purchased soil to support Nanaimo Track and Field Club

Hats off to Thetis Island (and some off Island) folks that purchased top soil to support Nanaimo Track and Field Club and Kaz Bannister. We sold 350 bags of soil (of a total of 3171) and raised almost $2100 for the club (including donations) as it’s a 100% fundraiser (the bags of soil are donated by Cinnabar Valley Farms). Kaz has qualified for the BC High Championships and the BC Summer Games.

Thanks from the Bannisters!

Summer Break ~ Yoga with Tatiana

Yoga classes will resume in the fall.

Summer has arrived, the days are longer and for many it is a time to be outside, vacation and host guests.

I am taking a break from offering regular yoga classes on Monday evenings and will resume teaching in the fall.

I may offer some "one off" classes or workshops over the course of the summer, which will be announced on espokes.

Gratitude and acknowledgement to everyone who came together to practice over the past months and see you on the mat in the fall!

Work On Ferry Line-Up Notice Boards

Please note that work to replace the rotten material covering the Notice Boards at the ferry line-up will commence Tuesday May 29th.

All notices will be removed during the process. Notices that are not outdated will be put back up once the work is completed.

There was to be a notice on the Notice Boards about the work being done, but unfortunately, it also had to be removed,

Thanks all,

TIRRA Exec

Rehydration

A good friend and neighbour was in a bit of medical distress on Sunday, which reminded me to remind you that even though it is still only May, you must remember to drink fluids  throughout the day, more so in this weather.

Seniors are especially vulnerable to dehydration without even knowing it, and dehydration can cause dizziness (among other problems) which can lead to a fall.  Experts generally recommend that older adults consume at least 1.7 liters of fluid per 24 hours. This corresponds to 57.5 fluid ounces, or 7.1 cups.

It doesn't have to be water.  Tea, juices, sports drinks etc. (Alcohol doesn't count!).
