We really appreciated our stay here and participated at differents events : beeing volunteers at the soup's on, walking around the island to « Get to the point » (and we're so happy to have a beautiful « Thetis Island » T-shirt!), going to yoga class, following the wood deers adventures, ... Thetis is a small island, but there is so many things to do here thanks to the community !

Cruise To Pirates Cove On The Schooner "Grail Dancer"

A Forbes Hall Fundraising Experience

Calling all adventurers! Support the Forbes Hall expansion by spending a relaxing day at sea on the Grail Dancer - a 50’ classic wooden topsail schooner. This elegant boat was built locally here on Thetis Island by Wayne and Maureen Loiselle, who will also be crewing the voyage. For a sneak peak of what you’ll be boarding visit www.graildancer.ca .

We’ll sail to Pirates Cove Marine Provincial Park on De Courcy Island where we will stop and enjoy a picnic lunch on the beach. Pirates Cove is aptly named for its history. As legends have it, the infamous Brother XII buried his treasure there and it has not been found to date...

Leonard Sylvester Passes

I am saddened to pass on the news that our Penelakut neighbour Leonard Sylvester passed away due to illness earlier this week. Len was a talented carver and gentle soul who regularly participated in Thetis artisan markets and craft fairs. He will be missed by many of us. May he rest in peace.

Rides Wanted

Rides wanted between Thetis/Salt Spring or Chemainus/Crofton

Sundays to Salt Spring: April 15, 22, 29 + May 6, 13

Open to travel by ferries, boats and automobiles and planes :)

I live on Thetis and am taking a 6-week course on Salt Spring. I am looking for some creative solutions for the weekly commute as I won’t have a vehicle.

I will be travelling from Thetis to Salt Spring on Sundays (or very early Mondays) and from Salt Spring to Thetis on Friday evenings.

I will happily pay for gas/time/service/kindness.

If you are headed to town by car on any of the dates listed and are willing to scoop me up and drop off at the ferry terminals or have a boat and are willing to transport me on any of the dates please let me know.

Feel free to contact me for more details or to make arrangements.

Thank you very much,

Tatiana

Deer Family

Many thanks to the Kempe family for putting big smiles on our faces as we drive, or walk by their home and Telegraph Harbour. The "family" of deer provide us all with a daily delight, a big smile and spontaneous laughter.

What we find truly amazing is how calm those two deer are in that little rowboat, enjoying life, fishing away in the harbour.

We do hope the DFO will not bother them about where they are fishing and, or if, they have fishing licenses.

Oh well, maybe deer do not need fishing licenses?
