Hydro Danger Tree Felling

A complaint for dangerous trees hanging over Hydro Lines was made and the Hydro Vegetation Assessor visited last week.  As a result, High Rigger Tree Services will be on Thetis on Thursday Dec. 18th to deal with the identified danger trees for BC Hydro.

Blood Pressure Clinic & Meet Your Community Paramedic ~ Nov. 28th

A reminder that this Wednesday, at the last Soups On before the New Year, our Community Paramedic Georgia Nelson will be set up in the Library to take your BP and blood glucose and discuss the CP program with you. 

She will start when she arrives off the 11:10. 

If you wish to see her, take a number at the door and we suggest you take advantage of a great lunch for $5 while you await your turn.

Yoga Class Cancelled ~ Monday, December 10th

There is no yoga class Monday, December 10 as I am away.

Thetis Island Local Trust Committee Meeting ~ Tuesday

The first meeting of the new Thetis Island Local Trust Committee is this Tuesday at 9:30

We have booked the main hall for this event and hope that you will join us.

Many of you spoke to Doug and I during the election about access to your local government and local issues.

All of our meetings our open to the public and a "Town Hall" is scheduled near the beginning of every meeting.

This is a great opportunity for us to hear what you would like this LTC to prioritize this term and what work it has to carry on from the last term.

So come on out, meet the LTC and the Islands Trust staff.  This will be the first time on Island for our new chair, Laura Patrick from Saltspring Island.

I know that she would be pleased to meet as many islanders as she can and get a sense of our community.

Exercise Class Schedule ~ December 2018

Glorious Exercise Class schedule for the month of December:

Monday Dec 10th- no class

Friday Dec 14th - there will be class 

Monday Dec 17th- there will be class

Off on holidays from December 18th until January 6th.

January 7th we will start back up again with exercise classes on Monday and Fridays 9:15 to 10 am

Thetis Island Marina ~ Propane Unavailable

Due to a mechanical issue there will be no propane available until further notice.

A mechanic will be coming to the island as soon as possible to fix it.

A tip for those of you who carry Naloxone(Narcan) in your vehicle in case you might have to become a Good Samaritan and help save an opioid OD life:  Below 4*C, narcan isn’t as effective as it would be if warmer. It will still work, but you may need to use more if the antidote is below 4 degrees from being stored in your vehicle.
