TIVFD Driveway Clearance

The TIVFD requires 15 feet of clearance from your driveway roadbed to tree limbs or wires (and 12’ driveway width clearance) for access by emergency vehicles.  After the BIG storm you may no longer have that clearance. Please email chief11@telus.net if you have a low hanging telephone line across your driveway that you have informed Telus about.  We will hang some flagging tape on it so we can see it if we have to respond to your address before it is repaired by Telus.  We don’t want to rip out the phone wire or damage our trucks.

And since you are out assessing your driveway, make sure you have cleared your downed trees right back to a 12’ driveway width, and have checked that your lot number sign is clearly visible from both directions (Numbers on the sign must be a minimum of 3” height).  Thank you for making our job easier; to get to you quickly when you need us.
