Fog Zone Fire Restriction

Due to the high risk for wildfire this season, the “Fog Zone” will no longer be excluded from Coastal Fire bans.  

Although this only impacts people from here travelling there to camp etc., it is still relevant to Thetis Islanders as an indication that this year will be worse than last year, and last year was bad.  

Just like Thetis, the communities in the Fog Zone will now be issuing local fire permits and banning fires when local conditions warrant.  Tofino, Ucluelet, Bamfield etc. are no longer immune from the higher risk of wildfires even in the fog zone.
