Safety First

Am finally writing this out, what has been on my mind.

It is about safety for all. Whilst driving the Thetis Is. roads, I have come across many individuals and animals.

Many I have not seen until the last moment, so close, it scared me.

People dressed in dark clothing, no flashlight, or brightness on their clothing to signify themselves on the road.

I hope that we are smart enough to wear bright at night. Flashlight is good, just not shining in driver's eyes, and then one is NOT able to see at all. It has happened to me. One bright light into my eyes and I could not see the person at all, until last moment, frightened the heck out of me.

Animals are also a concern. Have seen cats, dogs, deer (many), racoons, chickens, otters, etc. have been able to avoid them, a good thing.

Have seen many joggers on the road in the daytime, they are seen.  One of them wore black, that I didn't see right away as he was jogging on shady side.

Please, be careful out there. Wear reflective vest, or some white clothing, flashlight also.

When in a curve, walk on the wide side. Curves hide walkers. It is scary for drivers. Getting off the road and stand aside is also good when one hears or sees cars coming.

This will keep us all safe. Be mindful. Be kind. Be aware.

Thank you for reading.

Hortensa
