Thetis Island Improvement District AGM

Following discussions with staff at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing regarding adjustments to normal meeting procedures due to Covid-19, the Thetis Island Improvement District will be holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday August 22nd, 2020 at the Fire Hall beginning at 11:00 AM.

This public meeting is to report on the operations of the Fire Department, the Improvement District, and whatever other items of business may be raised.

Two (2) trustees are up for re-election. Trustees Graeme Shelford and Keith Rush have both agreed to stand for another three (3) year term. If anyone would like to put their name forward to run for one of these trustee positions please contact Anne-Marie Koeppen by August 13th, 2020 at: gotoannemarie@hotmail.com If need be, a drive through election, as was done for the recent Thetis Island Community Association voting, will be held Saturday August 15th, 2020 at the Fire Hall.

We will follow Provincial guidelines for social distancing and hygiene:

·         The fire engines will be staged on Mission Road for operational readiness.

·         Chairs will be spaced a minimum of 2 metres apart in the truck bays and outside on the apron.

·         No paper copies of the Financial Statements will be available. Please go to: http://www.thetisislandfire.ca/tiid-financial.html to review and/or print copies of those documents as you wish.

·         Attendees are encouraged to wear a non-medical mask or face covering.

·         Hand sanitizing stations will be set up.

·         Appropriate hall surfaces will be sanitized before and after the meeting.
