Sunday, July 4, 2021 at 2:11PM A big shout out to the adventurous boaters who did the full circuit on July 1st!
It was a first-time Sail Past treat to be visited by two orcas near Tent Island as we took a pit stop at sea.
Thanks to all you islanders waving from shore, especially those on the east side whose faithful presence always make the full tour worthwhile!
It was a great afternoon on the ocean celebrating our country and also reflecting on its flaws…as every country has them.
The flagship skiff flew an orange shirt along with a Canadian flag at half-mast in respect and recognition of the indigenous children we have wrongfully lost at residential schools.
May truth rein in this country. Grace and forgiveness be given and accepted. And may we bond together as one proud and equal nation.
Looking forward to seeing more boats at sea next year!
