Adult GSD FOR Re-Homing
Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 12:11PM Our son has rescued a 2½ yr-old, spayed purebred German Shepherd dog (LUNA) from a family home as the owners did not know how to deal with her drive (never had a shepherd before). She has high energy and good drive, likes to track and hunt for a ball. LUNA is friendly with people but there is no known history around children. She has a little bit of food guarding that could be eliminated. Due to her high prey drive, caution would be around cats and other animals perceived as prey. She has been an inside dog. She was used with his trainers (learning tracking, detection, and obedience) and had potential as a police service dog but is too old now for placement in that field. LUNA is obedient but has not had extended or in-depth training. She will need a firm handler. I would have to fly her in from Sask. or Alta. I have pictures if interested.
