Bee Swarms

One of my colonies has swarmed  (approximately 10,000 bees )  They leave the hive when they make another queen  and chose warm days to do this escape.   The swarm has been travelling towards Sunrise Point or Clam Bay.  If you hear a loud hum that will be my bees looking for a place to nest.  It’s really loud- eventually, they will cluster in a beard on a branch.  If you see them give me a call and I can  try and pick them up.

Honey bees in this  formation are not aggressive and not dangerous.  Do not swat them or disturb them or they could be.  If you see them and smell bananas back away slowly- that smell is alarm pheromones - signalling the girls to be on high alert where they may become aggressive and sting you.

I hope I find them - it’s really sad to see them go
