Wildfire Smoke
Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 11:19AM The smoke from the out-of-control wildfire near Sayward on Vancouver Island that started on Monday at around 5:30 pm (human caused) has now reached south of Nanaimo Tuesday morning. The smoke is moderate at this time but persons with respiratory concerns should take precautions. The wildfire near Port Renfrew is now controlled, and the one near Port Alberni has been extinguished.
On the upside, the Sayward fire smoke should give us some colourful sunsets.
