BC Ferries: Spune’luxutth’ March for the Children August 7, 2023 Chemainus, BC

In support of the Spune’luxutth’ March for the Children, BC Ferries will be providing complimentary vehicle and passenger travel between Chemainus, Thetis Island, and Penelakut Island on Monday, August 7, for those travelling to commemorate the lives lost and those who did not return home from the former Kuper Island residential school.

The vessel servicing this route can carry up to 26 vehicles. Travellers may choose to travel as foot passengers or carpool to avoid possible early morning sailing waits.

Penelakut Island residents departing Telegraph Harbour can find the August 7 schedule here, and Thetis Island residents departing Preedy Harbour can review the schedule here.

BC Ferries continues to stand with all Indigenous people, families, communities and residential school survivors who have suffered significant trauma throughout Canada’s history. Our deepest condolences go out to families and communities in mourning. Every child matters. We stand with the Penelakut Tribe during this difficult time.
