Fire Danger Class Moves to High

In British Columbia, a "High" fire danger class means forest fuels are very dry, and the risk of fire is serious. New fires may start easily, burn vigorously, and challenge fire suppression efforts. Extreme caution is needed during any forest activities.
High Risk Activities: If the fire danger rating remains “HIGH” for three consecutive days, high risk activities near the forest are restricted at 1 pm and a 2-hour fire watch posted.
The Fire Danger Class rating has now moved up to HIGH for Thetis Island. Starting on THURSDAY, JUNE 3rd, all High-Risk Activities (mowing, milling, etc.) must cease by 1 pm .
Solid fuel evening campfires with permits are still allowed at this time. Have water at the campfire and watch the wind conditions.
