May Fire Permits

Evening Campfire Permits will be available for the month of May unless conditions for Category 1 fires change during the month. We will keep you posted on any campfire bans. Please apply on-line for your campfire permit for May with your name, lot number, contact phone, and affirmation that you have read and will comply with the campfire safety regulations. Visit www.thetisislandfire.ca for the regulations. 

There will be NO permits issued for Yard Waste fires, burn barrels and other outdoor fires other than regulation-size evening campfires in May. 

Evening campfires do not require consulting the Venting Index.

We have entered wildfire season early this year. Starting May 1st, please report any outdoor daytime smoke columns to 911. The latest Vancouver Island wildfire was human caused, in Coombs, over the weekend. The forecast for this summer is for hotter and drier conditions than last year.
