Radon Information and Tester Loaner Program Launch

October 1st, 11 am at Forbes Hall

Angela Eyekelbosh, Environmental Health Scientist with Island Health, will give a presentation on Radon Poisoning.

Michelle Sutter, Chair of the Forbes Hall Health Services Group, will provide information on the Radon Tester Loaner Program. 

Last year, thanks to Graeme Shelford's work, we learned that radon gas exposure is a problem on Thetis Island. Following up on this, the Forbes Hall Health Services Group looked at ways to support the community in identifying and potentially dealing with this problem. With support from the Thetis Island Community Fund and the Thetis Island Community Association we have purchased 4 radon testing units that will be available to loan to the community.

What is radon gas and why should we be concerned? Radon is a naturally occurring gas that can reach levels in your home that cause serious health concerns.
