Sunday Morning ~ 2:00AM

We all know we have to put our clocks back one hour at 2 a.m. Sunday morning.  But why wait ’til then to change the smoke alarm battery?

Do it now, and sleep through the night.

The top shelf of the 700s is missing half of the books.  These have not been signed out.  On the shelf is a battered metal water bottle.  Does anyone have an answer to these library mysteries?

There could be many other missing materials which are only discovered when searched for specifically.  Thanks for supporting your island honour system library.

Vehicle Rental Wanted ~ Jan/Feb

A good friend of ours, Miss Jerney De Vries, is coming to reside on Thetis for January/February. She is from Rotterdam, Netherlands, full of fun and very excited about her sojourn at Steve & Myla's.

The cost for such a visit is considerable for her budget subsequently she wishes to enquire if she could borrow/hire a vehicle from one of the islanders. She has a 'clean' license.

Please contact Martin Randle at erskine2814@outlook.com

Ladies' Night ~ December 3rd ~ 7-10PM

What is Ladies Night?

In 1986 Ann Dickie started what would become a fun evening for all Ladies on Thetis Island. The ladies came together for an evening of friendship, food, song and fun. Over the years donations at the door went to the Cowichan Women Against Violence Society. Fast forward to 2016 and a meeting of a group of women who over the years have received what Barbara Williamson called the Candlestick Award. This award every year is given to a woman on the island who goes beyond the norm in her own quiet way. At one of our meetings we talked about all the new faces on the island in the last couple of years and wouldn't it be nice to have a Ladies Night this year put on by The Candlestick Society Women.

So if you are new to the island and would like to meet some amazing women, enjoy food, song and laughter we invite you to RSVP  Petra at onepeach@telus.net or Ruth Kempe at 250-246-3847. We also invite all women on Thetis Island to join us no matter how long you have lived on Thetis. Only 85 seats are available so get your RSVP in ASAP.

Please bring a sweet or savory finger food as well as your donation to Cowichan Women Against Violence Society (cash, cheque or gift card) and a small donation to cover the costs of the evening.

Thank you
