Two Sheep Astray ~

Hello, our naughty sheep are on the loose and were last seen between Lakeview and Pilkey Point.  They are friendly and tame but easily frightened by dogs.  There are two of them.

If you see them please call 246-9717 and we will pick them up.

Thanks!

Library Book Club Info

If you are in a book club and would like to post your year's picks in the library, please just put the list up on the bulletin board there, or send it to me and I will post it.  Part-time resident, Joan Brich, has given us the choices from her group in Switzerland.  Interesting choices for books and it is a great way to get ideas.

Friends of Furries is looking for “a few good dogs”.

Hey there pooches…have you ever wondered who your parents, grandparents and other “fur”bearers are?  If so you’re in luck.  Friends of Furries is running a DNA MY DOG contest as a fundraiser this summer.  First, we need to choose the Poster Dog that everyone will place guesses about as to their pedigree.

If you would like to be this dog you will win a free DNA profile and be able to finally answer those questions.  Have your human send a photo, their name, your name and their contact information (phone and email), to seaspray@telus.net clearly marked “DNA my Dog Contest”.  Or put the information in the drop box marked “Friends of Furries”; or catch up with Carol Swann or Kathleen McIsaac around the Island and give them the info.  That’s all it takes to enter…that and a dubious pedigree.  Make sure your human gets the info in by July 15 and you have a chance at being this year’s Friends of Furries Poster Dog.

If you’re chosen as the Poster Dog you need to be able to bring your human to a one or two  venues during the summer where people can meet you and guess at your lineage.  You know, fun places like the recycle, or maybe the market where there’s lots to see and do.  You’ll be able to help raise funds for other dogs in need.  The closest guess to your parentage will win a free DNA test for their own (or a friend’s dog)  AND a special prize just for your human.

Once the contest to choose the Poster Dog is over…everyone in the community will be able to support Friends of Furries by purchasing guesses as to Poster Dog’s pedigree.  Watch espokes and bulletin boards for more information.

Wednesday Games Night at Forbes Hall

We are holding a Come-One-Come-All games night every Wednesday at Forbes Hall from 7 – 11PM

We want to introduce European gaming to everyone here, and as a wonderful social activity for those who feel they need to get out a little. The games are complex, but also simple.

No Monoploly or Risk here… Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride,  & 7 Wonders are some of the games.

Bring treats if you want.

Cheers
