Friday, May 17, 2013 at 4:27PM I have a bag of hand-dyed roving of premium Combed Top from Targhee Sheep raised in the Montana/Wyoming area that has been through a French comb. It can be spun into a very strong worsted yarn (the fibres are already parallel).
Is there a spinner on the island interested in making it into yarn for me?
Please e-mail me (Jeannine) at flyingfrog@pacificcoast.net
Many thanks!

Friday, May 17, 2013 at 4:25PM Sign up for the Jollity FARM CSA Food Box Program (csa = community supported agriculture)
Our limited spaces are quickly filling up but we still have room for more members in 2013.
Receive 20 weeks of the freshest organic vegetables (and some fruit) from early June to mid-October.
Full Box memberships are $28/week and Half Box memberships are $18.
Typically members pay for their full share at the beginning of the season but we are flexible. Talk to us about monthly and weekly options.
We are your local island farmers and depend upon input from the community. When we know
how many people we are growing and harvesting for that equals less waste and more efficient
production. Commit to eating well this summer and support local agriculture on Thetis Island.

Friday, May 17, 2013 at 4:23PM Looking for billets July 26th and/or 27th
On July 26-28 our Aikido club will be hosting the "Hope Invitational" Aikido seminar at Forbes Hall. The event will include Aikido instructors and practioners from Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands and the Mainland. The first day of the seminar is devoted to teaching our children about Aikido "the art of peace", which is a non-combative martial art based on the principles of harmony, integration of mind and body, and self defense.
To keep costs down, we are seeking billets for July 26 and/or 27 to host the Instructors who will come to teach here as volunteers. If you have a guest room or cabin available for one or both of these dates that you would be willing to share with one or more lovely people (preferably without cost but even a low cost would be much appreciated), please contact Kelly Bannister at kelly_bannister@telus.net or at 246-9753
We also warmly welcome volunteers to help out with rides, food prep, food donation and other aspects of the event. Thank you for considering our request!

Friday, May 17, 2013 at 4:21PM I am looking to buy a recumbent, stationary bike and I'm wondering if any Islanders out there have one that is only doing duty as a clothes hanger or taking up space. I'd be happy to give one in good working condition a home for a fair price.
Thanks so much,
