Sunday, June 30, 2024 at 8:18AM With several of our trusty board members away, and with our program coordinator on maternity leave, this summer we will be offering a lighter version of our Nature House Program. Occasional events such as beach walks and the sea star count, activities at the People’s Apothecary Garden, and a special guest talk or two are in the works.
These events will be advertised by eSPOKES and/or posters, a week or two before they happen. In other words, we won’t be publishing a full calendar of summer activities this year or offering Friends of the Nature House memberships (Important note: ThINC Annual Memberships are still available).
If you have an interest in sharing your own nature or food security knowledge and skills with the community, we’d be happy to help you organize an event. Simply contact us at info@thetisislandnatureconservancy.org .
Furthermore, we will be continuing our community science programs for western screech owls, bats, purple martins, sharp-tailed snakes and our brand new invasive green crab monitoring program. New volunteers are always welcome to participate. And the Fairyslipper Forest Nature Reserve trail is always there for you and your visitors to enjoy.
With thanks,
The ThINC Team

Sunday, June 30, 2024 at 8:15AM Big box of stamps, design paper, punches, embellishments.
Too many to list. It’s a treasure box. Hundreds of dollars’ worth, plus.
Take all for $55.00. It’s a price way too good to refuse.

Sunday, June 30, 2024 at 8:12AM Table with 2 Extension Leaves and 8 Chairs, needs TLC
Table is 5’ x 3.5’, and each extension is 18”, for a total of 8’ when fully extended. There is unfortunately a large scratch 2”long x 3/8” wide near center where surface finish is missing.
The chairs are solid oak as well, 6 have been reupholstered and there is enough of the salmon red fabric to complete the other two.

Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 12:52PM The AED unit is out of service until the new electrodes arrive sometime next week. In the meantime, there is a note in the AED cabinet giving the location of another, privately owned, AED close by if needed.
There is still a Naloxone (Narcan) kit and a CPR Pocket mask available in the Pilkey Hall AED cabinet.
We will update you when the TIVFD Public Access AED is back in service.
