Dear Island Friends

For those of you familiar with Capernwray Harbour and the Fordham family, it is with sadness mixed with rejoicing, we share the news of Marlene Fordham’s passing yesterday evening after recent and significant health issues and complications.

Charlie, Chris, Susanne and family want to pass along their sincere gratitude for the love and support they have received from the Thetis Community and Island neighbours. Information on Marlene's Celebration of Life will be shared as things develop and details become available.

Please keep the Fordham family in your prayers as they navigate through this difficult time.

Easter at Telegraph Harbour Marina

It's time again for our Easter Celebration!!! The countdown is on!

We invite our communities to come together this Saturday, April 19th, to have some fun and celebrate Easter with some crafts, old fashioned games and yes... an egg hunt! 

Grandkids and boaters are also welcome. Bring your Grandparents!

Snacks and drinks will be served. (You are also welcome to bring chips or other snacks community style)

Crafts and games start at 1:30pm

Egg hunt at 3:00pm

Hello everyone,

Just a friendly reminder about two upcoming activities happening today and tomorrow:

Sunday, April 13 – Work Party at the People's Apothecary Garden
Join us starting at 2 PM for an afternoon of community gardening! Please bring gloves and, if you have them, any gardening tools you'd like to use or share.

Monday, April 14 – Chipping at Fairyslipper Forest Nature Reserve
You can drop off woody materials between 10 AM and 12 PM (noon) on Monday only. The cost is based on volume—$80 for a long box pickup load.

Information Regarding Elections Canada Vote

You can vote at several places in person or by mail from wherever you are.

In person

1. At any Elections Canada office by April 22, 6 p.m.
2. In your riding at your assigned advance polling station from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on April 18, 19, 20 or 21.
3. In your riding at your assigned polling station on election day, April 28.

By Mail

If you will be away from your riding during advance and election day polls, you can vote by mail. Voting by mail is also available to Canadians living abroad.

Deadlines apply. To get your voting kit, apply to vote by mail by April 22, 6 p.m. Make sure we receive your completed ballot by election day on April 28. Check the instructions in your voting kit for details.

Once you apply to vote by mail, you can't change your mind and vote at advance polls or on election day.

I’ve got a big ol’ load of clothes and baby things up for grabs — available on Island this weekend only. Come pick up or browse like it’s a tiny thrift store run by a very tired mom.

For the baby girl in your life (new parents, parents-to-be, doting grandparents — I'm looking at you )

• 0–6 month baby girl clothes — basically everything you need to start strong
• pretty little bassinet (best for 0-6 month age)
• Bouncy chair (still has some bounce left!)
• Blankets + a few toys

Organized in bags by size for max efficiency:

• 0–6 months
• 6–12 months
• 12–2T
• Some 2T–3T
• Winter gear (around 18m–2T, with a few bigger odds and ends)
• Shoes, sizes 5–9 (some may contain traces of playground sand)

Ideally, I’d love to rehome things in full bags, but if you want to browse, that’s totally cool too.
