Monday, March 9, 2026 at 8:52AM There are five surplus filing cabinets in the Forbes Hall basement.
Two – 18” wide x 18” deep x 52” tall with four drawers.
One – 18” wide x 18” deep x 26” tall with two drawers.
Two – 36” wide x 18” deep x 30’ tall with two drawers.
Being metal, these are great rodent proof storage.
Contact Ann Dickie info@forbeshall.ca if you’d like one or more of these awesome cabinets for free!
Sunday, March 8, 2026 at 8:18AM Looking for any “Thetistorians” (Thetis Island historians) interested in helping to contribute to the second archival display at Forbes Hall - Thetis Telephony
TICA Archives is eager to share items in the collection, but if you also have any historical documents or photos, antique or vintage telephone equipment we can borrow, fond memories or island telephone challenges to share, we would certainly appreciate any insights you can give.
The archival displays will be secured in a beautiful locked glass cabinet and borrowed items will be returned to you when the display theme is changed for the next project.
Thank you very much,
Nan Beals and Carol Stoker

Sunday, March 8, 2026 at 8:15AM 11:30 am until 1:00 pm
Gather at Forbes Hall for a very Thetis Island lunch...
Menu:
New England Clam Chowder
Corn and Vegetable Chowder DF GF Vegan
Corn Bread and Honey
Cookies and Goodies
Coffee and Teas
Suggested donation of $7 for soup, bread, treats and teas & coffee.
Soup’s On is entirely carried out by volunteers and, as one of the tasks is the program’s accounting, please do not pay with coins smaller than Loonies and Toonies. As all change must be counted and rolled.
For those who find large groups challenging, enjoy your lunch in this week’s designated quiet room, the Library.
Everyone is welcome to join us, seniors, seniors who don’t think they’re seniors, workers, families, and everyone who just wants a mid-day meal!
Menu remainders for take-out when available. Soup’s On also supports the Thetis Island Food Pantry.
Coupon Booklets of 10 for your convenience, $70.00

Friday, March 6, 2026 at 8:13AM We have more than fifteen ~16’ lengths of straight fir that were felled last year and are now on the ground on our property. Diameters range from 12" to 24".
The wood is not at roadside (about 100' from driveways), but the logs would be accessible with suitable mobile equipment. Some can be bucked into firewood, if no other use can be found. Removal would need to done in such a way that footprint damage to the trails and property is minimized.
Looking for proposals to buy/trade, remove and/or process the wood.
Please contact Terry at 204-620-7557 to view, or to discuss.

Friday, March 6, 2026 at 8:11AM Hello Brave Women,
The Cool Girls Nature Club will meet Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m.
For a fun twist, we’re trying a new location this week.
Please park up the driveway at 186 Porlier Road and we will walk down to the beach together.
Fun fact: Cold-water immersion increases norepinephrine in the brain, which can boost focus, alertness, and mood.
This is a very low-pressure gathering. Come sit on the beach, sip your tea, breathe the ocean air…
or dip, swim, paddle, float, or just watch.
Wetsuit, bathing suit, or birthday suit , all welcome.
Your presence is perfect exactly as it is.
This is simply a way for women of all ages, shapes, and sizes to gather outdoors for a little relaxed, non-pressured fun. And honestly… why not jump in the ocean while we’re at it?
If you’d like to join but the timing doesn’t work, please let me know. If enough people need a different time, I’m happy to accommodate.
Hope to see you — even if it’s just toes in the sand.
Warmly,
Elite
