Monday, December 11, 2023 at 8:12AM Gloria's Jams and Jellies have moved. After a weekend of monsoons, I have rescued the jams and jellies to a warmer spot. The lovely people at Telegraph Harbour Marina have offered a wee bit warmer spot for my jams and jellies.
So the next time you drop in for a coffee and cinnamon bun you can find my jams and jellies warm and cozy at the cafe.

Monday, December 11, 2023 at 8:09AM We have two small projects at our farm to complete. All the materials are here but we are looking to hire someone with experience installing sheet lino floor, or who might have some tools we could rent.
Thanks in advance,
Elisabeth & Noah

Sunday, December 10, 2023 at 9:23PM As we get into the much colder weather and you are using your baseboard electric heaters, please check that nothing is touching the units…table legs, sofas, drapes, bedding etc. While the heat source may not ignite the cloth or wood initially, constant on-off cycling over time can. Make sure you have a space. There was a structure fire on Penelakut that was a result of furniture pushed up against baseboard heating.
And on the same subject, plugging a “space heater” into a power bar or extension cord will also increase the risk of a fire. The heater instructions state that for very good reason. We recently had a very near miss here on Thetis for a structure fire because of an electrical short on a power bar that a space heater was plugged into. I have included links to three photos on the TIVFD website below. Please don’t overload your circuits.

Sunday, December 10, 2023 at 1:53PM Join us for a fun Soup’s On, December 13th (last one of 2023).
Wear that weird, ugly, strange Christmas sweater that you pull out once a year. Don’t have one? Use glue to stick fun Christmas items all over a sweater you no longer wear.
If you don’t have one, simply do not want to wear one, or whatever, come enjoy a bowl of soup while laughing with your neighbours at the weird things people will wear!
Ugly Sweater Soup’s On – December 13th.

Sunday, December 10, 2023 at 9:20AM Thank you to Margaret Woodhouse for organizing this year's Christmas concert.
Thanks as well to all those who sang, danced, played their musical instruments, entertained and engaged us all - there was even a magic act.
The concert was a true celebration of community.
