Unlisted Accommodation Possibilities on Thetis?

As one of the few remaining advertised visitor accommodations on Thetis, we find we are frequently having to turn away requests, especially during the summer. 

While in the case of tourists, this is just the way it is, sometimes it is people who have family or other genuine need to be here for a few days, and they can't find any place to stay. If there are people out there who are interested and have the suitable space available for providing accommodation on an occasional basis, but don't want to advertise, could they let me know? 

I wouldn't send anyone to them without checking with them first, but it would be very helpful to know if there were some other options out there. 

There was a time when there were about 20 B&Bs on Thetis, but as you can see from https://www.thetisisland.net/business.html#Acc  and https://www.thetisisland.net/info/Thetis_Island_VG_2023.pdf , there's very little left.

The annual Book and Bake Sale fundraiser for the TICA library is quickly approaching. The book drop off will be Thursday August 3 at the front hall door. Thank you in advance for donations. Thank you to Liz Forseth who is in charge of the Bake Sale part of the fundraiser.

Set up on Friday. The sale on Saturday 10-1. TICA members get to come in at 9:30 with their TICA member pass.

How well do you know your herbs? Today we will be offering several tea samples that you can try out - but they will not be labeled! This blind test activity encourages you to use your senses of smell and taste to detect some herbs that are commonly used in cooking. After the guessing, there will be some info about each herb and what they bring to the table.

Please park at Forbes Hall or well off the road on the shoulder.

Christmas in July for the Food Bank

Starting this Friday, the 14th we are collecting for the 12 Days of Christmas in July for the Food Bank. Drop off your non-perishable, unexpired extra groceries in the box at the fire hall door (296 Mission Road) and our local food bank will be extremely happy to distribute them. Thank you all!
