Monday, March 27, 2023 at 7:40AM During our regular monitoring at Moore Hill Nature Reserve we discovered that someone has been cutting firewood in the lower area along Pilkey Pt Road. There is also an area near the bottom of the switchback on the Pilkey Pt side of Moore Hill where branches and other yard debris have been dumped within the nature reserve boundary.
The cutting of trees, removal of firewood and debris dumping are prohibited in the nature reserve and access is by permission only. If you witness these activities taking place, please contact us at info@thetisislandnatureconservancy.org.

NEW!! Just yesterday, Noah and I enjoyed a very educational coffee tasting with Sam & Joseph of the Saltair Coffee Shack. Joseph has been a brewer and barista for a very long time and well connected to the local coffee scene. His deep knowledge and passion for other local roasters
and their exceptional coffee is inspiring. Unlike many other coffee shops who just use one type of coffee, Sam & Joseph like to treat their customers to a whole range of flavours and styles. They have graciously offered to extend their selections to Jollity and Thetis Island. As the season moves on, we will provide veggies for their cafe and in turn will pick up new types of fresh beans each week – win, win! If you are into coffee, then you'll want to watch our weekly order form for 'what's fresh' or pop by the farm on Saturdays to try something new.
This week we are featuring beans from 7 Cities and Fix Coffee, small batch roasters. These are some artisan-roasted, single origin, direct traded top-notch beans.
Also... NEW!! Our good pals and owners of Home Grown Living Foods in Lake Cowichan sent us home yesterday with a box of their U-Bake Sunflower Chia Keto Bread. This gluten free, simple to make loaf has become a staple around the farm, so we've added extra packages to this
week's order form.

Monday, March 27, 2023 at 7:34AM We are updating our kitchen and will be dismantling our current cabinetry next weekend, April 1st. Free for the taking is a small kitchen worth of cabinetry circa 1980s Ikea, a faux wood look formica countertop and double sink. Most is in good shape as this is a family cabin and only got used in the summers.
